Below are some of the most prominent national events USA Gymnastics holds and prominent international events where USA Gymnastics athletes compete.  You can quickly find historical data, athlete rosters, results, and quick facts.

American Cup

The American Cup was an elite senior-level international artistic gymnastics competition that was held in the United States from 1976 to 2020. In 2011, it became part of the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series. With the exception of 2005 (when the competition was also part of the FIG World Cup series), it has been exclusively an all-around competition.

U.S. Classic

The U.S. Classic is an annual summer gymnastics meet for elite artistic gymnasts.  The meet occurs before National Championships and is a qualifier for it. Previously a women-only event, men competed for the first time in 2022.

National Championships

Men’s and Women’s National Championships are typically held together. Rhythmic, T&T, and Acrobatic Championships were all held separately until they were combined into one event starting in 2014.

Olympic Games

Gymnastics events have been contested at every Summer Olympic Games since the birth of the modern Olympic movement at the 1896 Olympics in Athens. For 32 years, only men were allowed to compete. Beginning at the 1928 Olympics, women were also allowed to compete in artistic gymnastics events. Rhythmic gymnastics events were introduced at the 1984 Olympics, and trampoline events were added at the 2000 Olympic Games.

Olympic Trials

The United States Olympic team trials in gymnastics are held before every Summer Olympic Games to select the participants for the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team.

Pacific Rim Championships

The Pacific Rim Championships is a major regional biennial gymnastics competition. It is open to teams from member nations of the Pacific Alliance of National Gymnastics Federations. Before 2008, the event was known as the Pacific Alliance Championships.

Pan American Games

The Pan American Games (also known as the Pan Am Games) is a continental multi-sport event in the Americas featuring summer sports in which thousands of athletes participate in various competitions. The competition is held among athletes from nations of the Americas every four years in the year before the Summer Olympic Games. It’s the oldest continental games in the world.

World Championships

Gymnastics World Championships refers to a number of different world championships for each discipline in competitive gymnastics. The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) organizes World Championships for six disciplines: acrobatic gymnastics, aerobic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, parkour, rhythmic gymnastics, as well as trampoline and tumbling.
